Brentwood's Jimmy Coppin was the big winner in his division in the West Coast Nationals at the Antioch Speedway.

Coppin, in his second year of auto racing, had a big year during the regular season. He easily captured the Pure Stock point battle. In the final program of the year, he set his sights on capturing the $1,000 pure stock feature prize, and achieved his goal with a victory in the 25-lap main event.

Ty Duggins of Antioch was the other driver who exchanged his point championship for a main event victory in the Late Models. He also pocketed $1,000 after winning the Late Model crowns back to back.

The big winner of the four-division evening was Richard Papenhaussen of Chico. Papenhaussen is always a threat when he leaves his home to race at the Antioch Speedway. Earlier this year he won the main event here in the Western Dirt Late Model Championships. This time it was in the Dirt Modifieds that he raced his car 30 laps to pick up the $3,000 winner-take-all prize.

Bob Motts, the 2004 Super Stock champion, had been away from the speedway for a long time when he returned to the Super Stock main event. He won it for a quick $1,000.
