Science Fiction and Fantasy Art (ages 6 to 12) Fridays, March 4 through April 15 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Design your own superheroes, mythical beasts, aliens, robots and fantastic landscapes in this fun art class. Students will explore color and special effects to add drama and excitement to their creations. A $10 materials fee is payable to the instructor on the first day. The fee is $48 for residents; $58 for non-residents.
Fashion Design (8 to 14) Fridays, March 4 through April 15 from 5 to 6 p.m.
Learn to draw faces and figures, posing, garment construction and designing with fabric, pattern and color. The class will be inspired by fashions from throughout history, around the world, and current trends. A $10 materials fee is payable to the instructor on the first day. The fee is $48 for residents; $58 for non-residents.
Babysitting Safety and Certification (10 and older) Saturday, March 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Students will learn CPR, choking-prevention and water-hazard prevention techniques, plus fun activities to entertain children of various age groups. The course also includes infant feeding, diapering and providing emergency care. The fee is $54 for residents; $64 for non-residents.
Ballet and Tap (3 and older) Mondays, March 7 through April 11.
Call the Recreation Division for times. These classes are designed for beginners and returning students. The focus will be on musical awareness, grace and muscular development. The fee is $36 for residents; $46 for non-residents.
