Brentwood resident Steven Allen Banta passed away from heart failure on May 4, his 55th birthday.

Steve was born in San Francisco and graduated from Serramonte High School in Daly City. Prior to a back injury, he drove trucks for more than 20 years. As a young man he was an active member of Mission Chapter Order of DeMolay and Pacific DeMolay Association. He enjoyed listening to music, tending to his vegetable garden and watching TV. He was a big Steelers fan.

Steve is survived by his devoted wife, Kim; loving children, Ashley of Long Beach and Tyler of Brentwood; mother, Janet Banta of Roseville; sister, Sharon (Mike) Risso of Roseville; brother, Patrick (Susan) Banta of San Rafael; five nephews and three nieces.

He attended Golden Hills Church, where his service was held on Tuesday, May 10.
