Antioch High School
Kick off your weekend with Antioch’s Rock Club Battle of the Bands event tonight, April 23, at 6 p.m. Antioch’s finest hidden talents hit the stage to see who reigns supreme in world of local rock.
If you’re looking for a more classical presentation, the Antioch High Choir performs its Spring Show on May 18 at 7 p.m. While you’ve got your calendar flipped to May, make sure to plan a trip to see Antioch’s rendition of the classic “Annie.” Performances are held at 7 p.m. May 27 through 29 in Antioch High’s Beede Auditorium.

Deer Valley High School
Deer Valley’s 11th Annual Spring Dance Concert is scheduled for May 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. in the Deer Valley Theater. The concert is a showcase of all the talent in the Deer Valley dance program. The styles of dance include jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, tap, character and world dance. The event features a guest appearance by Delta Academy for the Performing Arts and Antioch Charter Middle School. General admission is $8.
Also coming in May, the Deer Valley choirs perform their end-of-the-year show on May 13 at 7 p.m., and the Deer Valley band and orchestra perform on May 25 at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Freedom High School
Freedom’s drama students offer the best deal in town with a double feature at 7 p.m. April 26 through April 28. Audiences will be treated to performances of “Glass,” a drama about a paranoid New York couple, and “Oprah Made Me Do It,” a story about two women fighting over the last copy of Oprah’s latest endorsement. You can catch both shows for the price of $3. Tickets are available at the door.
If you’re looking for more variety, visit the Oakley high school on May 12 for its annual talent show, where students showcase their musical and dramatic talents.

Heritage High School
Ready to rock out? Heritage High hosts its own Battle of the Bands event tonight, April 23 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 and all proceeds go to Make A Wish Foundation.
Coming up next week, the Patriots’ drama department performs “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” No 3D glasses are needed to enjoy this rendition of the beloved classic. Shows are held April 29 and 30 at 7 p.m. and May 1 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5.
Also from the Heritage drama department, The Spring Drama Showcase is scheduled for May 24 through May 26. Students will be performing a collection of monologues, duets and one-act plays. Admission is free.

Liberty High School
The Lions have some exciting student productions planned for this spring. Theatre Arts 3 and the Acting/Directing Workshop students present “On the Boards: An Evening of Student-Directed One Acts” on April 30 at Liberty’s Performing Arts Center. The show features five comedies directed by seniors Kayla Knowles, Megan Murray, Jacqui Rozowski and Casey Standridge, and junior Toni Vargas.
Liberty’s choirs are also gearing up for a big spring show. The A Cappella Choir, Women’s Chorus, Women’s Ensemble, Chamber Singers, and Men’s Chorus team up for Liberty’s spring choral concert, scheduled for May 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. The May 14 show features a sendoff for the graduating seniors, who will be honored that night. The Jenny Lind Vocal Award will be presented also that night. The Barbershop Quartets sing on Friday, May 14 as well. Tickets are $5.
