Summer event celebrates local wine

Brentwood Spice & Olive Oil hosts the Contra Costa Winegrowers Association Summer Celebration on Sunday, June 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Brentwood Spice & Olive Oil location on the southwest corner of Balfour Road and Cortona Way in Brentwood.

Contra Costa County has developed into a strong wine-growing region, and the event will showcase prominent wineries such as Viano, Hannah Nicole, Bloomfield, Tamayo and Cline. The nonprofit CC Winegrowers Association supports the promotion and preservation of wineries throughout the county.

Guests will sample fine wines, savor lunch delicacies roasted and prepared onsite, meet local wine-world insiders and learn more about the region and its wine production. Live music will be provided by Trusting Calliope and friends.
