Last year, Brentwood’s PONY League baseball team clashed with squads from San Jose, Blossom Valley, Sacramento, Vacaville and Tera Hills for the opportunity to represent Northern California in Simi Valley at the state tournament.

Brentwood came out on top and sent a team to compete in Southern California. This year, teams advancing to the next round will travel to Walnut for the Zone tournament against teams from all over the state. The 11-year-old division winner will travel to Virginia to play in the World Series.

Sponsors and local vendors at the Brentwood sectional contests this weekend will provide games, food and fun for the whole family. Saturday and Sunday will begin with the American Legion presentation of the flags and the National Anthem – on Sunday, sung by Antioch recording artist Jessica Caylyn, who has performed for the San Francisco Giants, Oakland A’s and Brentwood’s CornFest. The games are all free to the public.
