Compression therapy, debridement and bioengineering skin substitutes were a few highly skilled treatments performed in 2011 on an estimated 300 wounds at the Sutter Delta Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center.

“Many times our patients come to us with one wound or multiple wounds, when nothing else has worked,” said Wound Care Manager Anisha Kalra.

“Our staff is nationally certified to utilize the latest approaches for wound care management. Creating individual treatment plans for each patient, our center has proven results that we are helping our patients get back to living a quality of life they can enjoy.”

The center received the Diversified Clinical Services Center of Distinction Award for achieving outstanding patient outcomes for 12 consecutive months, which include a 91-percent wound-healing rate of 30 days, and patient satisfaction scores of 92 percent, among other quality outcomes.

“Our Wound Care Center heals chronic wounds of patients who might otherwise experience an amputation or other life-threatening conditions,” said Sutter Delta CEO Gary Rapaport. “For 2011, we provided wound care to 150 patients from our community. We are proud of this accomplishment and the opportunity to use these advanced therapies to heal all types of injuries. By healing wounds where other therapies have failed, our center eliminates years of suffering and debilitation for many patients.”

Sutter Delta’s Wound Care Medical Director Dr. Ray Rassai is honored by the center’s achievements because he has helped build the center’s collaborative efforts between the hospital and community physicians to meet the needs of patients.

“These results demonstrate the need and impact this service brings to our community,” he said. “We plan to continue outreach to our physicians and our community-at-large to ensure patients have access to our services when they need us.”

Sutter Delta’s ongoing partnership with Diversified Clinical Services, Inc. provides the oversight and expertise to help run the award-winning Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center. Recently, Diversified Clinical Services joined forces with the National Healing Corporation to become Healogics.

Sutter Delta is now partnered with the nation’s largest provider of wound care medicine, which operates more than 500 wound care centers around the country.
