What a fantastic evening in downtown Brentwood put on by the Downtown Brentwood Coalition.

As a business owner in downtown, I had the unique view of watching from the sidelines all the events going on. Friends connecting, kids laughing and dogs feeling welcomed are some of the wonderful moments that I observed. There was great music from a multi-talented musician that filled the air with lively tunes. Food runners were delivering food from many of the great downtown restaurants for only $7 to anywhere you happened to be hanging out. Coco’s was on the sidewalk serving beer and wine.

All this was really great; however, the best part of the night was when the Marines serving our country walked through the streets honoring our flag and country. All was quiet and still as our country’s song was played. As I felt my love for our country, I realized this is the real America. The one we all dream about. It’s right here in our community of Brentwood.

I would like to encourage any other downtown business owners and all our neighbors to join us on these Thursday events as we continue to grow and have fun.
