The Titans 10 White baseball team went 3-1 to capture the recent TPR Baseball Leap Year Classic Tournament title held at the Tracy Sports Complex. The Titans overcame fierce competition in the open format, two-day competition.

After a difficult loss in pool play, the Titans rebounded Sunday in bracket play to beat the rival Delta Dawgs 5-3. The Titans got the spark they needed from a brilliant outfield double play from outfielder/catcher Justin Lund. Pitcher Andrew Neil showed great composure in overcoming adversity and leading the Titans in the semifinal victory.

The championship game was a literal clash of the Titans, pitting the Titans 10 White (AA) against the Titans 10 Blue (Majors). The championship game went scoreless for six innings as both teams played solid defense. After Xavier Nelson pitched four shutout innings, closer Sean Head came in to finish the job.

Up for the Titans White’s last at bat, a clutch bunt by Head put the winning run on base. With one out and runners on second and third, catcher Ryan McKinley drove in the winning run with a walk-off line drive that rocketed into left center field, clinching the 1-0 Titans 10 White victory.
