Two people were shot, one fatally, at an Antioch birthday party on Saturday night.

According to an Antioch Police press release, a 16-year-old boy from Oakley was killed in a shooting that also wounded a 17-year-old Antioch girl. The shots were fired at about 10:17 p.m. Saturday on the 2800 block of Seville Circle.

Officers are still investigating the cause of the shooting and how the girl was injured. According to Antioch Police Lt. Scott Willerford, the shooter and the boy had an argument, which eventually escalated into a shooting.

Police were dispatched to the house after being told of several gunshots. As the officers were arriving to the house, police received calls reporting that someone had been shot. When police got to the scene, they began trying to revive the 16-year-old boy. The boy was transported to Sutter Delta Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

The 17-year-old girl suffered one non-critical gunshot wound and was driven to the hospital by a friend. She was treated for her injury and released.
