It’s said that the third time is the charm, but in the case of the Special Kids Foundation (SPK), six appears to be the lucky number – as in the sixth annual Wine and Chocolate fundraiser that raised a whopping $20,000, the most in the foundation’s history.

“The generosity of this amazing community was evident in every face of the crowd that night,” said Foundation Director Lisa McBride.

The event, held May 19 at Hannah Nicole Vineyards, was a sold-out celebration filled with food, wine, music and generosity. Proceeds will go toward the foundation’s iPad Assistive Technology Assistance Program launched locally in February. For applications, visit www.spkids.org.
