It's called Egeria Densa.  That nasty, green tentacle monster that is clogging up 20% of the Delta and filling in Discovery Bay, plugging up cooling water intakes and fouling props,...and it NEEDS TO GO!  Unfortunately, some 40 years ago or so, this Brazilian born aquarium plant was dumped into the water and here we are….. overtaken.

Each piece that comes loose can start a whole new plant.  Pulling or cutting it only makes things worse.  The answer is an herbicide.  Only the state can use it, so PLEASE keep pressure on the Department of Boating and Waterways.  Email them at pubinfo@dbw.ca.gov and express your concern.

It WILL eventually fill in most of the Delta, at which point I’ll be opening a fan boat business.  Thanks for making some noise!
