Contra Loma Reservoir in Antioch was the setting for the recent 23rd annual Kid’s Fishing Derby, sponsored by the California Striped Bass Association’s West Delta Chapter.

In the 3-to-6-year-old division, the first-place catch was awarded to Tessa Cuyno’s 2-pound, 6-ounce, 17½-inch fish; Felix Romero placed second with a 1-pound, 13-ounce, 16-inch catch; and Jordan Picazo took third with a 1-pound 12-ounce, 15½-inch fish.

In the 7-to-9-year-old division, first place went to Robert Osbourn’s 4-pound, 8-ounce, 22-inch catch; Jacob Reddy took second with a 2-pound, 8-ounce, 18-inch fish; and third place was awarded to Joshua Reddy for his 2-pound, 8-ounce, 18½-inch catch.

In the 10-to-12-year-old division, Carson Glass won took the top prize for his 4-pound, 10-ounce, 22-inch fish; second place went to Ethan Bublas for his 4-pound, 20-inch catch; and Taylor Serres placed third with a 2-pound, 11-ounce, 18½-inch fish.
