Machine Gun Preacher (MGP) Sam Childers will be speaking at Mountain View Christian Center, 5000 Amaryllis St. in Oakley, on Sunday, Dec. 5 at the at 9 and 11 a.m. services. Childers is an internationally acclaimed evangelist, frequent 700 Club guest and public speaker who tours churches, schools and other institutions with a message of hope, specializing in discussing with school-age children the dangers of drug and alcohol addiction.

For more information on Childer’s visit to Mountain View Christian Center, call Pastor Mikael Mork at 925-783-8958.

Childers has recently become the focus of worldwide media attention due to his 13-year fight to rescue suffering children from the wars in Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan. His exploits have been chronicled in Vanity Fair, the Washington Post and his autobiography, “Another Man’s War” (Thomas Nelson).

Director Marc Forster (“Quantum of Solace,” “Monster’s Ball,” “The Kite Runner”) and screenwriter Jason Keller (“The Tomb”) recently collaborated to adapt “Another Man’s War” into a Hollywood cinema epic. The Machine Gun Preacher feature film will star Gerard Butler as Sam Childers and is currently in pre-production.
