More than 10,000 pounds of non-perishable food items were distributed by Infineon Raceway to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano (FBCCS), as well as Friends in Sonoma Helping, as part of the raceway’s recent Thanksgiving Food Drive.

This distribution is the largest amount of food the raceway has given out in the 10-year history of its food drive. Since its inception, Infineon Raceway in Sonoma has distributed more than 28,000 pounds of food to Northern California food banks. Several other Northern California groups joined Infineon in its charitable acton.

FBCCS has been operating for the past 35 years, feeding more than 132,000 hungry people each month.

In a press release, FBCCS Community Relations Manager Lisa Sherill summed up the current situation: “As far as donations go, it’s been a good season, but the need is way up this year.”
