Congratulations to Oakley resident Steven Hartland on earning his Eagle Scout award with Troop 152. Steven, 18, is a 2010 graduate from Freedom High School.

His proud parents are Tony and Christine Hartland, and his Scoutmaster is Jeff Lim. Steven’s other accomplishments include Wolfeboro Pioneer, and Oakley Youth Volunteer of the Year for 2009. His Eagle Project was the installation of bleachers and a flagpole at Laurel Fields in Oakley. The project required obtaining permits, coordinating the cement truck, overseeing volunteers, ordering and assembling bleachers and finishing the installation over several weeks.

Steven’s Court of Honor was held at the Lehmann Stables in Brentwood on Aug. 28.
