Summerset girls, from left, Sharon Becker, Helen Nordseth, Susan Schmidt, Merrill Wolfe, Carole Kindred and Sally Jackson, stowed a copy of the Brentwood Press in their luggage and headed west to the Far East, brandishing a copy of their Hometown Weekly Newspaper at the excavation site of the famous Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi’an, China.

The whirlwind trip took the ladies to six cities in 12 days. After practicing their chopstick technique for several months, they dubbed themselves the Six Chicks with Chopsticks – and a T-shirt design was born.
