Ripples in the mist

Bay Area residents at ground level went about their business last Saturday evening shrouded in a blanket of grey. But 2,300 feet above the fog, on Mt. Diablo’s Eagle Peak, the picture was different. Press columnist Ger Erickson captured this scene around 5 p.m., just before the sun drifted beneath the western horizon. From foreground to background are the undulations of the city of Concord, the Berkeley Hills and Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County. For more images from Eagle Peak, click on Multimedia/Slide Shows.

Thanks, Kati. I was blessed to be in the right place at the right time. I'll bet you could write a poem about it.

This is a perfectly beautiful photograph. Every photographer's dream. Thanks.
