You could see the intensity all game long and it paid off with the last-second tie.”

WATER POLO
The Deer Valley varsity girls water polo squad’s 3.57 grade point average earned the team a North Coast Section Scholastic Championship recently. The Wolverines are the only fall BVAL team to earn such a banner. Head coach Kiel Olff said four of his Wolverines achieved a GPA of 4.0 or better.
“I’m proud that we will have a NCS scholastic banner for our gym,” Olff wrote in an e-mail. “It’s very difficult to win those and being the only BVAL team of any sport to win one feels great. … I hope we can win many more.”
