East County Military Families and Friends invite East County residents to celebrate the grand opening of the East County Veterans Peer to Peer Resource Recreation Center in Pittsburg on Saturday, Feb. 26. Registration for the Walk opens at 9 a.m.

Participants will walk from the center, 520 Garcia Ave., (vicinity of Harbor and Bliss) and take the sidewalk around the city block (Harbor, Leland, Railroad, Bliss and back to the center). Please register to walk and ask for sponsors.

Walkers contributing $50 or more will receive a free T-shirt. The donations benefit our combat veterans and military families. Compared to their hard work and sacrifice, walking is easy. For more information, e-mail ecmilitary@yahoo.com or call 925-642-7537.
