The City of Brentwood is now accepting applications for the 2011-12 Business License Tax Grant Program. The program allows for 20 percent of the business license tax collected to be set aside for economic development, for the explicit purpose of business promotion and institutional advertisement for the City of Brentwood. Approximately $148,767 will be available for the 2011-12 award cycle.

Organizations including the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce may apply annually to the city for these funds on a project-by-project basis. Funding priorities will be made to certain business districts, including downtown. Projects should align with the current City Council Goals & Strategic Plan, which can be found on the city’s website, www.ci.brentwood.ca.us. Disbursement of these funds requires City Council approval.

An orientation for interested applicants will be held Thursday, Feb. 24 at 4 p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room, 118 Oak St. Applications are due no later than March 31.
