The 29-girl team bested 25 opposing squads to take first place in the Super Large Varsity Show Cheer intermediate category. This is the fourth year that Coach Sandra Torres has led the Freedom team to victory. “All the girls worked very hard throughout the year with the goal of repeating their championship,” said Torres. “And they did.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with their work ethic, commitment to their school and to the cheer program. This team is a great example of skill, discipline and positive attitudes – everything a coach hopes for in a team.”
Varsity cheer members include Jamie Carr, Tariah Cheney, Kelsey Ertmer, Giannina Favalora, Brianna Garcia, Haylee Garlock, Desiree Glynn, Tawni Hawley, Shelby Henriques, Hayley Hodges, Kirsten Hulsey, Journey Jost, Hannah Kline, Sasha Lahham, Alexandra Lauderdale, Julia Martinez, Rachel Ormsby, Marissa Perry, Kaitlin Ray, Brittney Regalado, Sara Sloan, Patrina Smart, Arianna Smith, Becky Stifter, Kendall Strelo, Kirsten Tan, Taryn Ternes, Alexa Torrano and Jazmine Zamora. Assistant coaches are Sarah Ahlf and Taylor Kollo.
