The community is invited to help support victims of the Japan earthquakes by attending a special dinner gala fundraiser held at the Antioch Historical Society Museum on Saturday, May 7.

While Antioch’s sister city, Chichibu, Japan, was outside the flood zone, earthquakes were felt in Chichibu. Antioch’s 45-year relationship with the region has motivated Antioch residents to support relief efforts.

The dinner gala is a joint fundraising effort of the Antioch-Chichibu Sister City Organization, City of Chichibu, City of Antioch, Antioch Chamber of Commerce, ECO Business Centers, Antioch Historical Society, Arts and Cultural Foundation, Antioch Lions Club, and Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce. A cocktail hour begins at 5 p.m.; dinner is served at 6:30. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at ECO Business Centers, Posh Salon, the Antioch Historical Society Museum, Antioch Chamber of Commerce or Lynn House Gallery.

Checks should be made out to the Antioch Chamber Foundation. Please note “Japan” on the memo line. Money will be sent by the Antioch-Chichibu Sister City Organization board of directors to the Honorable Mayor Kuki of Chichibu for disaster relief efforts in Japan.
