Liberty senior defender Tatyana Martinez, a first-team all-Bay Valley Athletic League soccer selection, recently signed her letter of intent to attend Holy Names University. The Hawks are currently an NAIA team, but will move up to NCAA Division II next year. Martinez was the Lions’ captain this year and a second-team all-BVAL player in her junior year, when Liberty claimed the league title. Martinez said she’s excited about soccer, college life and the opportunity to study nursing at Holy Names.
