The board of directors encourages those supportive of its efforts to serve as board members and Friends of John Marsh Committee. Board members serve for a minimum term of three years, attend monthly board meetings, contribute financially to the trust, chair committees and are dedicated to saving the historic John Marsh House as the crown jewel of the future John Marsh Historic State Park.
Friends of John Marsh Committee members serve at their convenience. Their activities range from stuffing envelopes, hanging signs, acting as host/hostesses, directing traffic, professional advice, professional services, Gala site preparation, circulating flyers, posting Gala services, soliciting donations, picking up materials, plus work with phone trees, construction – and whatever it takes.
The John Marsh Historic Trust is especially looking for board or friends volunteers who can serve in the following capacities: legal advisor, electronic arts/social networking, fundraising, photography, financial/investment advisor, CPA/tax preparation for nonprofit filing, newsletter editor, trust historian, public relations/marketing and Friends Advisory Committee liaison.
Those who cannot volunteer are invited to join the newsletter mailing list or visit the website at www.johnmarshhouse.com.
Those interested in serving on the board or Friends Committee may submit a letter or e-mail, indicating their interest and skills, prior to May 31. The postal address is John Marsh Historic Trust, P.O. Box 1682, Brentwood, CA 94123. The e-mail address is marsh1856@yahoo.com. For further information, call 925-679-5811.
