The Delta Science Center committee recently hosted Extreme Delta – Inland Voyage event as part of Oakley Science Week. The event featured a chance for folks to get hands-on with marine life, including some real live sharks, and learn about the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and the San Francisco Bay.

Three shows filled out the day and all were filled to the max. Children and their parents got to pet fish including a 2-year-old leopard shark found in the bay about a month ago. The Marine Science Institute brought the fish and provided the program.

Attendees also got the opportunity to make a fats-oils-grease can with the Ironhouse Sanitary District and do science experiments with the Diablo Water District to learn about the water we drink.
