The City of Brentwood was designated as a Playful City USA by KaBOOM!, a national nonprofit that promotes that children’s health by providing the time and space for play.

Only 118 cities across the nation were recognized as 2010 Playful City USA communities, and Brentwood has received the honor three years in a row. The city has reapplied to be designated as a Playful City for the fourth year and is currently seeking those interested in joining the Play Task Force.

The Play Task Force meets four times a year to identify opportunities to further engage Brentwood residents, encourage active use of Brentwood’s 57 parks and identify park improvement projects. Additionally, members assist with planning all Play Day events, volunteer at the events and spread the word about play to others in the community.

To join the Play Task Force, call the Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department at 925-516-5366. Members must be at least 12 years old and Brentwood residents.
