The Antioch Police Department recently established an online reporting option, providing Antioch residents an easy way to report non-emergency incidents. According to a press release from Lt. Scott Willerford, the web-based reporting system allows the public to report crimes such as theft, vehicle burglary, lost property, hit-and-run, graffiti, vandalism and identity theft over the Internet.

Police Chief Allan Cantando said the Desk Officer Online Reporting System from the software company Coplogic, Inc. (based in San Ramon) will cost $22,500 the first year of operation, then $10,000 a year after that.

Residents will be able to print a temporary copy of their reports. Police personnel will review the report and once approved, the filing person will receive a copy of the report by e-mail at no cost.

The report will be transferred into the department’s Records Management System and receive the same attention as if the report had been filed by an officer.

The crime-reporting service is available at www.ci.antioch.ca.us/citygov/police.
