I agree with Kay Martinez (“Water charges all wet,” July 11, Opinion). Having recently moved to Brentwood, I am finding the water bill is double what I paid in Clayton.
We moved from a large house, with almost a quarter acre of landscaping and three people, to a tiny house in Brentwood with a tiny (approximately 100x4½-foot) strip of garden and two people. My water charges in Clayton ranged about $35 to $50 per month.
My bill here in Brentwood is averaging $99.33 to $127 per month. Since I work from home, I have a few “no shower” days per week, and when I do get cleaned up, I use one to two inches of water in a tub.
There is something definitely wrong here.
