An Aussie with more than 20 years of fly fishing experience in the wilds of Australia, New Zealand and the western United States, Damien Stopps (www.ausflyguiding.com) has a passion for teaching fly fishing enthusiasts of all levels.

Stopps will be stopping by REI Brentwood on Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. for a digital presentation on fly fishing for striped/black bass in the Sacramento/San Joaquin River Delta and for trout in several of Northern California’s premier trout rivers – the Lower Sacramento, the Yuba and the Truckee.

Attendees can gain expert tips on gear, fly selection and presentation, reading water, casting techniques, optimal times of year to fish for certain species, catch-and-release ethics and how they can help support the health of California’s fisheries.

REI Brentwood is located in The Streets of Brentwood, 2475 Sand Creek Road. For more information, visit www.rei.com/brentwoodca.
