Soroptimist of East Contra Costa recently elected its officers for the year. Soroptimist women strive to contribute to their community by holding fundraisers, such as working at the CornFest and making blankets and hats for newborns. We gave two scholarships last month to local high school students. The 2011 officers, from left, are Director Helen Meyers, Treasurer Bertha Ruiz, Dee Pruitt, Secretary Karen Allen, President Dolores Henderson and Correspondent Secretary Barbra Guise. Not pictured is Vice President Marianne Smith. We are looking forward to these women sharing their talents in a successful new year!
