As a Jew living in Brentwood, I would like to thank you for the articles in the Aug. 14 issue of The Press in which Jewish life in East Contra Costa County was covered.
My participation in Chabad of the Delta greatly enriches my spiritual life, and I feel fortunate to have this Jewish outreach organization close to home. I discovered that all Jews, regardless of their level of observance, are warmly welcomed at the Chabad!
This was something of which I was previously unaware. The local Chabad of the Delta provides me with a variety of ways to express my Judaism. Besides traditional Shabbat (Sabbath) services, I’ve attended a number of Women’s Circle gatherings, which may include a brief cooking lesson along with the camaraderie, the highly acclaimed Jewish Learning Institute classes and also barbecues for the entire family.
I would like to encourage other Jews in East Contra Costa County, regardless of the level at which they may or may not practice their faith, to see and experience what Chabad has to offer them.
Also, by the way, all fruits and vegetable crops, including grapes, are kosher. The manner in which they are processed determines if they remain Kosher or not.
