Oakley’s Kids Fishing Derby – a catch-and-release event for children through age 15 – returns on Saturday at the Antioch/Oakley Pier off Bridgehead Road. Registration is free, and participants may pre-register at City Hall, 3231 Main St., or Hook, Line & Sinker, 3100 Main St. Parents can also register their children onsite between 8 and 9 a.m. The derby runs from 9 to 11 a.m. and is followed by a short fishing seminar and free hot dog lunch. Awards will be conferred for biggest fish, smallest fish and most fish caught. Kids should bring their fishing poles; free bait will be supplied.
