Ed Stewart, 94, and Casey Collins, 3½, spanned the age spectrum at Harvest Park Bowl’s Bridging the Gap Tournament. The event brought nearly 100 bowlers to the center, which hosted the tournament for the second year. Proceeds for the tournament went toward youth scholarships.

Two elements made the tournament especially appealing: its nine-pin no-tap format (knocking down nine pins on the first ball counted as a strike); and the worthy cause: proceeds went toward youth scholarship awards.
It’s was Julian Lopez’s first tournament. The 8-year-old began with a case of butterflies but soon got over it, striking and high fiving with his senior partner Anita Hendrickson. Four bowlers – seniors Jim Padilla and Duane Wilson, and youths Tim Barton and Justin Van Dicken – earned perfect no-tap 300 games.
