Homeless Animals’ Lifeline Organization (HALO) hosts its fifth annual golf tournament fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 7 at Shadow Lakes Golf Club in Brentwood.

The event kicks off at 10 a.m. with a putting contest before the scramble-format golf tournament begins at 11:30. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

Participation is $145 and includes a player bag, windshirt, lunch, beverages, buffet dinner, auction and raffle. Dinner-only tickets are available for $40.

HALO is an East County nonprofit that rescues dogs and cats from shelters before they are euthanized. Last year, HALO adopted out 449 dogs and 237 cats. Dogs and cats in the care of volunteers are groomed, receive medical treatment and are taught to socialize with other animals.
