The recent Homes Tour featuring houses for sale in Discovery Bay made me realize once again what a unique and beautiful community I live in.

I have traveled to six continents and not found a place with the amenities of Discovery Bay. Oh yes, there are waterfront homes in the Puget Sound of Washington State, but think of the rain. Florida, the Carolinas and other East Coast states have houses on the water, but why worry about cyclones and tropical storms? Discovery Bay has it all: access to many waterways, a well maintained golf course, a lake in the middle, good weather and many lovely homes with private docks.

The realtors should promote the uniqueness of this community. I have a plaque in my home: “If you’re lucky enough to have a house by the water, you’re lucky enough.”
