Contra Costa County Teacher of the Year Debbie Bordeau, a third-grade instructor at Laurel Elementary, was treated to a surprise parade last week.

The Laurel student body lined the parade route around the blacktop and cheered for Bordeau as she floated past on her special Teacher of the Year chariot.

The Freedom High School drum line provided marching music, and a local police car and fire truck joined in the fun.
