Brentwood resident George Brown was recently honored as Mayflower Transit Van Operator of the Month.

Brown started his venture in trucking in the mid 1970s using a tractor hauler while living in Las Vegas, Nev. After deciding he enjoyed the work – including the opportunity to enjoy the scenery throughout United States – he purchased his first 18-wheel Freightliner, and his journey began.

Brown, who is on his fourth big rig, drives more than 140,000 miles annually, delivering high-tech merchandise such as camera equipment for space satellites and medical machines for hospitals.
