Raquel Rogers passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Monday, Oct. 24 at the age of 40.

She was a very involved parent to many while helping at Laurel Elementary, where her two young daughters attend. If she wasn’t in the classroom weekly, or being the room mom, she was helping at the numerous events. She also loved making cupcakes and coming up with new decorating ideas. You could always tell which baked goods at the bake sale were hers because there was so much time, effort and heart put into them. Rarely a month went by that she wasn’t bringing in yummy treats for her co-workers.

Rocky had a love for Elvis that she shared with her late father, Manny, and other family members. She attended the live Elvis show at Cap’s many times. She had even started to get her daughters hooked on the King.

Raquel and her husband both worked at the Lucky’s in Oakley. She has been with the company for 22 years, most of that time at the Oakley location. She was a friend not only to all her co-workers, but her customers. Her friendliness and dedication to helping as much and however she could earned her Lucky’s President’s Award.

Rocky was one of those friends who always offered a smile, a helping hand or a wisecrack – whatever you needed at that moment. She left you with a smile not only on your face but in your heart. Raquel will never be forgotten and always in our hearts.
