At about 8 p.m. Tuesday night, narcotics detectives from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Oakley men, seizing roughly $250,000 of methamphetamine.

According to a press release from Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jimmy Lee, Oakley residents Samuel Orozco Lopez, 23, and Jose Lopez Reynoso, 20, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale and theft of utility services.

When detectives searched Lopez and Reynoso’s house on the 4500 block of Waterford way, officers found nearly nine pounds of methamphetamine worth about $250,000.

Lee said that while this isn't the biggest drug bust in Oakley's history, it's one of the biggest.

Lopez and Reynoso, who are on immigration holds, are being held at the Contra Costa County Jail without bail.

The investigation into the case is ongoing.
