In their final competition of the year, the Delta Patriots cheer squad brought the national title back to Brentwood, winning the Performance Cheer Level 3 Division at the Jamz National Championships in Las Vegas.

“I’m so proud of the girls,” said Cheer Director Brenda Rogers. “The girls went through so many changes in the last two weeks before we left for Vegas, and their commitment to the sport has paid off.”

The Patriots cheer squad, 17 strong, showcased stunt ability, motion techniques, jumps and high-altitude basket tosses. The squad’s perfectly executed routine outshone the efforts of seven other division finalists to clinch the big trophy.

“We were screaming and crying and we couldn’t believe we won,” said Cheer Manager Tanya Wilson. “We all looked at each other in amazement and just screamed.”
