On behalf of the 2011-12 Leadership class, I would like to thank the following businesses and individuals for their continuous support of the Liberty High School Leadership Class and the traditions that make Brentwood what it is.
This year’s successful Liberty Idol competition raised over $1,600 for the Bay Cruisers Wheelchair Basketball team as a result of the support of local businesses and attendance of the community.
First, we would like to thank Brentwood Florists & Gifts for their generous donation of flowers for the emcees, winner and technical crew. In the past three years, Brentwood Florists & Gifts have generously supported all Liberty events, from Homecoming to Mr. Liberty. We are very grateful for their generosity and hope the community will support this local treasure.
Diggers Diner has been a continual source of support for Liberty Leadership. They have annually hosted the breakfasts for the Homecoming Court, as well as Mr. Liberty and Liberty Idol contestants. Students look forward to their Diggers Breakfast almost as much as the event itself. The staff of Diggers is supportive, kind and provides a positive experience for all. This donation went above and beyond the expectation and is very much appreciated.
We would also like to thank Prestige Press for their donation toward this year’s tickets, programs and flyers. The staff at Prestige worked closely with the students to prepare and deliver an outstanding product in a very quick manner. Prestige has supported Liberty High School for years and we hope to work with them again in the near future.
Additionally, I would like to thank the following individuals for their work on the Liberty Idol competition: Frank Pappas and the Liberty Film Alliance, who created and edited this year’s “Reject Video”; Curtis Cunningham, Curtis Hutslar, Carli Lamb and Wendy Thigpen, who served as judges; our Technical Crew – Mo DuPee, Taylor Miller, Taylor Kesterson, Mikey Santos, Zach Friedmann, Clay Krum, Brooke Damico, Emma Holmes, Hanna Johnson and Gabby Montagnino; the night’s organizers, Tyler Elmore and Vanessa Munoz; and Liberty administrators Pat Walsh, Sara Branstetter, Ilene Foster, Sandra Guardado and Matt LaFleur.
This year was the 10th annual Liberty Idol competition, and we hope that all who attended had a great time. The traditions at Liberty High run deep and are part of what make living in Brentwood a great experience. Go, Lions!
