In June of 2007, Will Strauss, 15, earned his Eagle Scout Badge, completing his project with Troop 218 of Kingsland, Ga. prior to moving to Brentwood and joining Troop 90 under Scoutmaster Chris Friedmann. His Court of Honor was held Oct. 26, 2008 at Veterans Hall in Brentwood. Will is a sophomore at Heritage High School and his proud parents are Roger and Karen Strauss of Brentwood. His Eagle Scout Project was recruiting and training fellow scouts to register vital personal information about children, should the child go missing, that would aid law enforcement and the recovery effort. Participating parents were provided with a comprehensive identification card that included a picture, fingerprints and a DNA sample. Will coordinated his project with law enforcement agencies, arranged for registration/identification sites throughout the community, and engineered the project’s publicity.
