Liberty’s Alissa Hansen, a Discovery Bay resident, signs her letter of intent to Holy Names University in Oakland, with support from parents Elizebeth and Erik Hansen and head coach John Ambrose. Hansen, who earned athletic and academic scholarships, is one of the Bay Valley Athletic League’s top distance runners. She chose Holy Names for its proximity to home and strong nursing program, which is offered in conjunction with Samuel Merritt College.
