Oakley Mayor Kevin Romick joined Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed volunteers last Sunday to celebrate Earth Day by transforming a barren piece of ground at Freedom Basin Park (at the corner of Neroly Road and O’Hara Avenue) into an attractive landscaped area.

In all, 50 plants were planted and 9 cubic yards of bark were spread.

Among the many helping hands were Kohl’s associates and Girl Scout Troops 30187 and 30615.
