On Dec. 30, Brentwood resident and U.S. Army Sgt. George Jay, right, assigned to the 39th Military Police Detachment, 28th MP Battalion, 8th MP Brigade, took his oath of enlistment for four more years of service. The presiding officer was Brig. Gen. David Quantock, deputy commanding general of detainee operations, Multinational Forces – Iraq. Sgt. Jay serves on the general’s protective security detail.
