April 27, 12:08 a.m. The Antioch Police Department received a call from the Oakland Police Department reporting a subject who had been kidnapped and robbed in Antioch. A 45-year-old male cab driver picked up three men early Friday morning from the Pittsburg/Bay Point BART station and drove them to an apartment complex off Delta Fair Boulevard, where the cab driver was robbed at gunpoint and ordered into the vehicle’s trunk. The men drove to Oakland and released the victim unharmed. The victim flagged down a passerby, who called Oakland police Friday at about 8 a.m. The stolen taxi was found in Oakland near 83rd Avenue unoccupied and not significantly damaged. The suspect wielding the handgun is described as a black man, 23 to 27 years old, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall and weighing 145 to 160 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white lining. Another suspect is described as a black man, between 23 and 24 years old, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds and wearing a black shirt and black jeans. The third suspect is described as a black man of unknown age, unknown height and weight, but wearing a grey hooded sweater and black jeans. April 28, 6:39 p.m. An Antioch man, 41-year-old George Enriquez, invited his brother to his house on the 2300 block of Cambridge Drive on Saturday to show him a gun he recently purchased. As the two men were looking at the gun, it went off, striking Enriquez’s 36-year-old brother. Enriquez called police to report the incident. Upon arrival, law enforcement, fire and emergency medical personnel found the victim, who has sustained a single gunshot wound, and pronounced him dead at the scene. Enriquez was arrested on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter and illegal possession of an assault weapon. He was taken to the Contra Costa County Jail in Martinez and released on bail Sunday, April 29.
