The Heat, an EDYSL U11 Gold team, continued its strong showing this summer tournament season this past weekend, winning the El Dorado Shootout at Sacramento's Cherry Island Soccer Complex. The championship win at the Shootout is the team's first tournament win and comes on the heels of a second-place finish at the California RUSH tournament, in which the Heat lost the championship game by a single goal. The team aims to ride the momentum of these strong tournament showings into the regular season, which begins after Labor Day.
