New Eagle Scouts Dylan Palmer, Ben Kean, Jared Harrison, Scott Brower and Brian Fleming, all from Troop 153 of Antioch, were recognized at an Eagle Court of Honor on Aug. 18 at Kennedy Grove Regional Park.

Mayor Pro Tem Jim Davis attended and presented the Scouts with certificates of recognition from the city of Antioch. Each Scout completed the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout, including planning and managing an individual Eagle project.

Dylan Palmer planned, organized and supervised landscaping at the Church on the Rock. Ben Kean built a duck island in the Dow Wetlands in order to improve the ambience of the area and provide a better home for the ducks.

Jared Harrison planned, built and ran an activities booth for youth and teens at Antioch's Relay for Life, benefiting the American Cancer Society. Scott Brower planned, built and placed a redwood picnic table and planted 200 bushes for Heritage Baptist Church. And Brian Fleming planned, purchased material for and supervised construction of a large fenced area for a community garden at Contra Loma Park.
