Tickets are selling fast for the Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust's third annual fundraiser. This year's event, A Harvest Celebration, will be held Saturday, Sept. 22 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the beautiful and historic Taylor Ranch.

During the last two years, over 200 people have sipped wine under the stars and enjoyed an extraordinary meal created from locally grown food. Once again, drawn by the opportunity to create dishes from the spectacular diversity of fresh food grown around Brentwood, chefs from premier Bay Area restaurants including Prima, Piatti, Lark Creek, Nibbler's Eatery, Sunrise Bistro Nature's Bounty and many others will be preparing signature dishes with local food. Brentwood's finest vintners such as Bloomfield Vineyards, Tamayo Vineyards, Cline Cellars and Hannah Nicole will be pouring local wines.

The Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust is a nonprofit organization that works with local farmers and the community to preserve our farmland and promote local food and farming. The Harvest Celebration is particularly important this year. This spring, the city of Brentwood discontinued public funding of the Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust. Without city funding, the support of the community is essential so that the Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust can continue to work to support local farmers and protect the valuable farmland that produces local food for our community.

Farming provides us with a fresh, healthy source of food, keeps food dollars in our communities and gives us a sense of place and history. The Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust Harvest Celebration is an opportunity to enjoy Brentwood's wonderful agricultural bounty and support our local farmers.
